Dynamic Surfaces

Anna-Michèle Hamann, (studio ANOUK) studies the possibilities of transmiting the characteristics of a material or texture or a finish into another, getting unconventional results, in a search to increase our awareness of the tangible surroundings.
The project adresses diverse experimentation fields: coupling and adaptation contrary materials, the phase change from two-dimensional to spatial structure, as well as the parametric triggering of movement. The symmetric structure of the design, which gradually becomes increasingly filigree, combines two contrary materials and their entirely opposing material properties. In this, the individual properties evolve to varying degrees. The structure is in turn set in motion by an electromagnetic system and triggered according to various parameters.

This project was developed in collaboration with BASF designfabrik and Hyundai Motor Deutschland Gmbh
